Pallahara: After a lady teacher of the Bandhabhuin Girls’ High School in Jamardiha village had gone missing for 12 days, the body of the woman was recovered in knee-deep water of the Kakharua river by locals today.

Earlier in the day, the local police reached the spot and seized an Active scooter, lady shoes, vanity bag and clothes after getting a tip-off. Suspecting that the lady teacher, identified as Muni Sae (33) of Gopapura Sahi at Jamardiha, who had gone missing on December 13, might be murdered and her body is thrown into the river, a search operation was launched by the fire brigade personnel and locals to locate Sae.

Sources said Sae had given an application for a half-day leave to headmaster of the girls’ high school on December 13 after teaching for two periods. She had cited in the application that she wanted to withdraw cash from a bank and therefore she was submitting the application.

While leaving the high school, Sae had told some co-workers she had to pay Rs 6,000 to her brother who is coming from Burla and left after that.

However, when Sae’s brother reached her home and found she was absent, the in-laws as well as parents had been making frantic searches to trace her, the sources added.
