Missing girl’s body found hanging from tree, rape suspected

Ganjam: The discovery of the body of a missing minor girl hanging from a tree on Saturday has sent shock waves in Bhanjanagar. It is suspected that the girl was raped and murdered before her body was hung at Gangapur.

According to the reports, the family of the deceased had earlier lodged FIR after she went missing on March 29.

Family members and locals were horrified to find her body hanging from the tree on Friday.

It is suspected that the girl has been strangulated and, thereafter, her body hanged from the tree.

Gangapur police on the other hand has sent the body for autopsy while further investigation into the incident has started.
