Missing girl reunites with mother after 13 months

Baripada: After a wait for around 13 months, a girl child united with her mother in Baripada town of Mayurbhanj district on Thursday.

The girl child, a resident of Ward number 17 of Baripada town, had gone missing and a police complaint on it was registered in June 8, 2016.

Only after OTV telecast recently the sufferings of the child’s mother, police officials intensified their search operations.

On basis of a tip-off, a joint team of Baripada police and Jharkhand police launched an operation and rescued the girl child from Samarsahi area under Kharasuan police limits in Jharkhand. Later the police handed over the child to her mother Chumaki Mukhi.

“I am quite happy as I got back my child after such a long wait,” the child’s mother said.
