Paradip: After a brief lull, miscreants have bounced back to steal oil from the pipeline of Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) again allegedly by damaging the pipes at Neheru Bangala road near the port town today.

Following the rupture, oil made its way to the nearby Kaudia creek and fields besides spilling over to the water bodies affecting aquatic animals badly. Locals fear, the leakage would  contaminate nearby water bodies which is used by humans too.

On being informed, IOCL authorities rushed to the spot and ordered the engineers to plug in the ruptured parts. Incidents of oil pilferage are reported at intervals like the one in May last year.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
