Miscreants loot Rs 7.8L from toll plaza employee in Rourkela

Rourkela: In a broad daylight heist, three armed miscreants looted Rs 7.80 lakh from a toll plaza employee at gun point near Jhagarpur here today.

As per sources, the employee was on his way to a bank to deposit the money when three bike-borne miscreants intercepted him. One of them brandished a gun while another snatched away the bag. The trio then decamped with the cash.

"The bike bore a number plate of Jharkhand and the miscreants were speaking in Hindi. They drove away towards the Biju Expressway after the heist," said an eyewitness.

Meanwhile, police have detained two persons including a security guard for questioning. An FIR has also been lodged by the victim." A complaint has been filed and investigation into the incident is on. We are trying to get in touch with our counterparts at Jharkhand," said a police official.
