Angul: In a broad daylight heist, two miscreants looted cash worth Rs 4 lakh from a private company employee near the State Bank of India (SBI) building in Gandhi Marg area after attacking him with a sharp weapon.

The seriously injured employee was rushed to the district headquarters hospital.

Talking to OTV, the victim, Mohan Yadav, employee of Dhanbad Gas Agency, said he was on the way to the SBI to deposit Rs 4 lakh when he was intercepted by two youths. “Suddenly, one of them tried to snatch my cash bag but failed. In the meanwhile, another youth came from behind and attacked on my neck with a bhujali.  After I fell down, the two miscreants took away the cash bag and fled the area in a bike. Hearing my shout, the locals rushed to the spot and admitted me the hospital,” he added.

The locals expressed their resentment over the inaction of the police in taking prompt action soon after the incident.

However, police refused to give any comments to the media.

Till reports last came, police has begun a search operation to trace out the two miscreants.
