Miscreants loot jewellery shop after attacking home guards

Baripada: Miscreants looted gold and silver ornaments by breaking the wall of a jewellery shop at Betnoti near here in Mayurbhanj district last night.

They tied up two home guards on duty at an ATM counter in front of the jewellery shop and attacked them before looting the gold items. Passersby traced the home guards being tied in the ATM counter in the morning and rescued them before informing the police.

The home guards said 10 miscreants came on a four wheeler at around 2 pm and committed the crime. They said the looters tied up their hands and legs and threatened them.

On being informed, police with a scientific team reached the spot and started investigation.
