Admin officials asked to file written complaint against cops in Puri

Puri: The rift between Puri district administration and police further deepened as the Collector asked the the Sub-Collector and three Tehsildars to file a written complaint against policemen who allegedly misbehaved with them when the four were on Rath Yatra duty during Suna Besha and Adhara Pana ritual.

A meeting was held at the district Collector office today to discuss the controversy. After hearing from the administrative officials, Puri Collector Arvind Agarwal asked them to file the complaint in written.

It is alleged that the police misbehaved with the Tehsildars of Begunia, Padmapur and Nayagarh while they were on duty during Adhara Pana. The police pulled the Tehsildars out of the cordon. Earlier on Suna Besha, the police had allegedly misbehaved with Puri Sub-Collector.
