Minor girl murdered after gang rape in Cuttack

Cuttack: A minor girl, who was missing from Sudasailo village in the district since February 11, was allegedly murdered after gang rape by three youths of the village, police said on Sunday.

Three persons were detained yesterday in connection with the case after carrying out a thorough investigation as per the complaint filed by the girl's family. Later, during the course of interrogation, the trio confessed their crime.

They gang raped the minor girl, killed her and buried the body at a place in neighbouring Kunda village, said a police official.

Meanwhile, a police team along with a scientific team has reportedly reached the spot to recover the body of the girl.

Cuttack Rural SP Madhab Chandra Sahu said, "We will further probe based on findings of the post mortem report."

He added the alleged gang rape and murder of the minor has been recognised as Red Flag case.

"Police delayed to take action due to which I failed to rescue my daughter," father of the minor girl alleged.
