Minor girl found dead, rape and murder suspected

Rayagada: Mystery shrouds the death of a minor girl, whose body was found hanging in a forest near Badaljhar village under Dangasil outpost in Kashipur block of the district on Sunday.

The girl was missing from February 14 and her body was found hanging from a tree in the forest today.

The family members have alleged that she has been murdered after rape. Earlier, the family had lodged a missing complaint after the minor girl went missing on February 14.

Meanwhile,  police have detained two suspected youths basing on the complaint filed by the victim's family.

The body of the girl has been sent for autopsy while further investigation in connection with the incident is on, police said.
