Minor girl crushed under car as 4 yr old fires engine inadvertently

Jajpur: In a shocking incident, a teenage girl was crushed under a car when a four year old accidentally fired the vehicle’s engine in Ashokjhara village under Korei police limits in Jajpur today.

The incident occurred when Ramachandra Hembram from the village drove to a tubewell with his four year old son to wash the car. He had left his son inside the car while washing the vehicle when the boy inadvertently tinkered with the start key and fired the engine. The vehicle rushed forward as it was on gear.

As a result, the 13 year old daughter of Goram Dhir who was standing before the car to collect water from the tubewell, got crushed under the wheels.

“When we reached the Jajpur hospital the doctor declared my daughter dead,” said Goram Dhir, the heart broken father of the minor.

The father of the four year old, Ramachandra said, “I always place the vehicle on gear and when my son tinkered with the start the vehicle moved forward with great speed. We took the girl to the hospital immediately but could not save her.”

Korei police has started investigation after reaching the spot.
