Bhubaneswar: The minimum educational qualification of Sikshya Sahayaks in the State has been upgraded from matriculation to Plus-II.

The School and Mass Education Department today approved a proposal on upgrading the minimum qualification of Sikshya Sahayaks from matriculation to Plus II as prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). However, working Sikshya Sahayaks who have Matriculation with CT qualification will not be affected by the fresh change.

Similarly, the minimum qualification for appointment of junior clerks in district offices and offices sub-ordinate thereto has been upgraded from Plus-II to Plus-III. A notification in this regard has been issued by the General Administration (GA) Department.

The Odisha Revenue Clerks Association had been demanding for enhancement of entry level qualification of junior clerks to graduation along with special cadre status.
