Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) today came up with a fresh order directing the District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure stricter enforcement of the ban on entry of mobile phones into examination halls during the ongoing Annual HSC Examination.

Stating that even though the centre superintendents have been instructed not to allow mobile phones into the centres, the Board said, it has found that the instructions have not been strictly complied with.

"At the time of the visit to examination centres it was found that the instructions have not been strictly followed. You (DEOs) are to ensure that no one other than the centre superintendents carries a mobile phone, switched on or off," the board said in its letter to the DEOs.

The board has also said that the teachers coming to identify their students will not be allowed inside the campus with mobiles and they should do their work at the main entrance and return.

"This apart, media persons under no circumstances will be allowed to go into the examination halls and may cover the event outside the main gate," the letter added.

More than 6 lakh students appeared for the MIL paper of the Annual HSC Examination 2018 which began on Friday. The examinations will continue till March 8.
