Bhuabaneswar: After MIL, English and Mathematics, the Science question paper of the matriculation examination went viral on social media while the examination was underway today.

According to reports, photographs of the question paper of Science subject were allegedly circulated on WhatsApp in Anandpur of Keonjhar and Kamakhyanagar of Dhenkanal district today.

While the examination began at 9 AM, the question paper was found circulating on WhatsApp just half-an-hour later at Dhanei Vidyapeeth in Dhenkanal.

"We have police protection outside of the examination centre. Mobiles have been barred inside examination halls. This apart, the DPC who visited the centre after the commencement of the exams was also happy with the arrangements," school principal Chintamani Sahu said.

However, School and Mass Education Minister Badrinarayan Patra refuted the allegations and termed it as an intentional attempt to disrupt the examination.

"Someone might have made it viral in an attempt to create a hoax. Crime Branch is probing the matter. This is just an attempt to damage the future of around six lakh students. If such allegations had surfaced before the examination, then it could have been considered as question paper leak," said Patra.

This is the fourth time that the question papers have gone viral on social media after the annual examination began on February 23.

Earlier questions of MIL (Odia), English and Mathematics subjects were allegedly found circulating on social media.

Meanwhile, Crime Branch has already started a probe into the matter, sources said.
