Maoists release audio tape, oppose road construction

Bhubaneswar: After posters in Satkosia, Maoists have now released an audio tape opposing road construction works at several places including in Malkangiri district.The audio tape features the voice of CPI (Maoists) secretary of Malkangiri-Visakhapatnam division, Benu.

In the audio tape, the rebels have termed the statements of BSF DG to wipe out Maoists after construction of Gurupriya bridge as a conspiracy.

Moreover, roads are being constructed only to facilitate mafia to loot natural resources including minerals and in no way the better roads can usher in development of tribals.

Though most of the coastal belts in Odisha have wider road connectivity, farmers are committing suicides. Similarly, despite road construction in Bonda ghati, many are migrating outside to work as labourers.
