Maoists gun down 2 villagers on Malkangiri border

Malkangiri: Maoists have gun downed two persons suspecting them to be police informers at Madegare village in neighbouring Visakhapatnam near Malkangiri border.

The deceased have been identified as Kalakani Surya and Mukla Kishore.

According to reports, nearly 20 to 25 armed rebels had picked the duo from their respective houses on Friday night and later shot them in front of other villagers in the wee hours today.

As the incident occurred on Odisha border, it has now unleashed terror among villagers in remote and inaccessible Malkangiri district.

Sources said, the Maoists have also left behind a handwritten poster written in Telugu in which they have claimed to have punished the duo for passing on information to security forces.

Meanwhile, the villagers in Malkangiri have demanded intensifying combing operations as the Maoists have executed the killings after a brief lull along the border.
