Narayanpatna: Maoists today have once again appealed to the people to observe martyr's week from July 28 to August 3 through a fresh banner that appeared at Talagumandi village here in Koraput district.

The banner in the name of Koraput-Srikakulam division also asked tribals to pay homage to slain 31 cadres of the outlawed outfit in police encounter in Chhattisgarh in October. Notably, division secretary Daya and other top leaders heading Malkangiri and Narayanpatna areas were among the slained rebels.

The fresh banner appeared a day after a few hand written Maoist posters were found in M.Rampur police station area in Kalahandi district.

The posters in the name of Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division of CPI (Maoist) urged the people to initiate a mass movement against the police encounter at Bilabaru and Gumudumaha.
