Maoist killed in gun battle between police & ultras in Koraput

Jeypore: An exchange of fire ensued between the Koraput district police and Maoists in Leleri forest situated bordering Rayagada district, killing a rebel this morning. This was informed by Korpaut SP Charan Singh Meena today.

The SP said some items used by the rebels have been seized from the encounter spot.

The district police raided the area in the Leleri forest on the basis of a tip-off on movement of Maoists in the area, the SP added.
