Manch demands halt of 3 Express trains at Markona station

Balasore: Train service disrupted at the Markona railway station as locals of Simulia and Khaira blocks in Balasore districts staged Rail Roko at the station today demanding renovation and halt of three Express trains at the station.

Members of the Simulia Khaira Nagarika Manch demanded that the Puri-Howrah, Jagannath and Dhauli Express trains be halted at the Markona station. After staging indefinite hunger stir at the station premises for the last two days, the activists staged Rail Roko. Resulting this, the Howrah- Puri Passenger train is stranded at the station.

The activists have also resorted to Simulia Bazaar bandh. Several shops and other establishments have remained closed partially affecting normal life in the locality.

Later, the district administration clamped prohibitory orders under Section-144 at the railway station.
