Man trampled to death by tusker in Balasore

Balasore: A man was trampled to death by a tusker at Kuturipal village under Khaira block in Soro today.

The deceased, identified as Jatia Nayak, was having food at his home when the tusker came and started roaring in front of his house. Nayak tried to flee from the spot to save his life, but the pachyderm dragged him before trampling him to death. He died on the spot.

It is alleged that the Forest department officials have not taken any steps to drive away the tusker that has been spreading panic among the locals for the last four to five days.
