Man thrashed for eve-teasing during immersion ceremony

Cuttack: Eve-teasing proved costly for a man after he was thrashed allegedly for making obscene gestures and passing lewd comments on a girl here during the Goddess Kali idol immersion ceremony in Cuttack on Monday.

The video footage of the man being beaten up has gone viral on social media.

As per the girl, the incident occurred near Bidyadharpur area where during the immersion ceremony, a man, taking advantage of the crowd, allegedly misbehaved and pulled the girl with a wrong intent.

When the girl opposed, argument ensued between the two. The situation went out of control, when the girl, along with a few other people thrashed him severely in public.

Following the incident, police rushed to the spot, rescued the man and took him to the police station.

However, the police later released him after issuing him a warning.
