Jajpur: A Bolero driver was critically injured after being shot at by some unknown miscreants near Panikoili SP office here on Tuesday.

The incident took place when the driver, identified as Jamir Khan, was on the way to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital from Bhadrak carrying a patient. Three miscreants, in a Tata Safari, reportedly intercepted him near the SP office and opened fire.

Meanwhile, past enmity is suspected to be the reason behind the incident.

“Investigation is on to nab the miscreants. Khan has been shifted to SCB Medical and is undergoing treatment. We will wait for what Khan has to say about the incident,” said a police official.
