Man held for threats to Kandhamal Collector

Kandhamal: A man has been arrested by Town police for allegedly issuing death threats to Kandhamal Collector Reghu.G on his mobile phone yesterday.

The accused has been identified as Kuna Diggal (29) of Lambagudi village in Khajurpadi block of the district.

The accused was arrested basing on the complaint filed by the district magistrate alleging to have received the threats from two different phone numbers.

According to police, Diggal confessed to have made the threat calls as he was aggrieved after no action was taken by the district administration over his grievance regarding irregularities an ashram school in the village.

Diggal has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 294, 189, 500, 506 and 507 and has been produced before the court.
