Man forced to kneel down for appearing as witness before police

Jajpur: A man was forced to kneel down in public for appearing before the police as witness here at Hatapadia main road under Korei block of Jajpur district.

A video capturing the entire episode showed former block chairman Bhikari Bal’s son Naran torturing one Bharat Nayak and making him kneel on the road. The video also showed Naran abusing Bharat and threatening him for life.

Sources said, Bharat had earlier appeared before the police as a witness of a case and infuriated over the incident, Naran decided to punish Bharat.

Following the incident, Bharat lodged a complaint at Korei police station. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
