Man dupes women of Rs 1cr, absconds

Bolangir: One Iswar Chandra Das, has been found absconding after allegedly duping several women of nearly Rs 1 crore in Bolangir district.

According to sources, Das cheated a large number of women on the pretext of providing them loan at a lower rate of interest.

Reports said Das opened a company named Bandhan Finance Private Limited at Palace Line here and collected money after enrolling over 70 self-help groups (SHGs) in it. Dash even collected Aadhar cards and other documents by promising them easy loans. He had also appointed a local woman to verify the documents.

However, within 15 days, he fled after locking the office.

“Rs 1 lakh was given from each SHG. We gave our money despite many difficulties. We want our money back and strong punishment for the accused,” said Pramila Mugri, an affected woman.
