Man beaten to death in crematorium while performing last rites

Ganjam: Tension prevailed in Jarada village of Ganjam district after a person was killed while performing last rites of an acquaintance at a cremation ground here on Monday.

According to sources, the incident occurred today morning when the villagers had gone to the crematorium to attend the last rites.

However, moments after reaching the crematorium, two persons clashed after a war of words ensued between the duo over a dispute. The situation further worsened when one of them attacked the other person with a wooden plank killing him on the spot.

Following the incident, Jarada police rushed to the spot and began investigation into the incident.
