Man arrested over alleged human sacrifice bid

Bhubaneswar: A man and his associates have been detained by Khandagiri police today over allegations of attempting human sacrifice at Raghunath Nagar in the city.

As per allegations a land owner in the vicinity along with few others had brought a child with them and was performing some rituals last midnight by digging a 20 feet deep pit.

When the locals enquired about it, the land owner said that he is offering prayers to discard evil spirits from his land. Doubting his intentions, the locals informed the police about the incident.

While some of the persons fled the spot police were able to nab few others, including an occultist. Meanwhile, police is interrogating the detained persons.
