Kendrapara: A 24-year-old man was arrested in Odisha's Kendrapara district for allegedly posting obscene photos and abusive messages on the Facebook account of a 27-year-old married woman, police said today.
Anil Rout of Dhumata village had become friends with the woman over Facebook and had been sending suggestive messages and obscene photos to her, the woman said in her FIR filed with police.
The youth, annoyed with the woman after she removed him from her friend list, posted abusive, obscene and objectionable massages and pictures, police said.
The woman was asked by police to invite the youth to her house from where he was arrested yesterday, police said.
The accused was booked under various sections of IPC and Section 6 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, said inspector of Nikirai police station, Pramod Kumar Lenka.
A similar cyber crime was reported in the district in March and a Qatar-based man was arrested in connection with it.
