Malkangiri: With the death toll due to Japanese Encephalitis in Malkangiri district touching 114 today, the district administration on Sunday kick-started house-to-house survey for collection of data about kids in between one and 15 years old in the district as a part of process for vaccination against Japanese Encephalitis.

The Malkangiri district administration has formed 890 teams to undertake the house-to-house survey across the district.

Each survey team comprising a local teacher, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will undertake a headcount of kids in the district till November 22.

The house-to-house enumeration process will be monitored by a gram panchayat-level officer.

Notably, the district administration has planned to start the vaccination against Japanese Encephalitis from 8 am to 3 pm daily from the first week of December.

Meanwhile, a four-year-old boy died due to Japanese Encephalitis this morning at the district headquarters hospital taking the death toll to 114. The deceased was identified as Suresh Madakami of Kamalapadara village of Korakonda.
