Mahaprayan failure: Family carries dead body on shoulder again!

Berhampur: In yet another incident of medical negligence, a dead body was carried on the shoulders by the family members after failing to get a Mahaprayan vehicle or ambulance from the hospital in Bhanjanagar of Ganjam district today.

Later, the family members carried the dead body from the Surada Community Health Centre (CHC) to Sorisabili village by tying it with bamboo poles and slinging on to the shoulder.

Angry over the incident, the BJP staged a road blockade near Panchanana Chhak.

This is not first such incident in Odisha. After Dana Majhi case, there had been many such failures in the Mahaprayan Schemes in the state raising questions on the efficiency of the Health Department as well as the State Government.
