Bhubaneswar: Accusing his arch-rival, senior BJD leader and Food Supply minister Sanjay Dasburma of investing money earned from chit fund operators in his realtor company, senior Congress leader Lalatendu (Lulu) Mahapatra on Wednesday said if the former does not reveal the details of his chit fund transactions, he will reveal the modus operandi of the minister to the media very soon.

Briefing media persons here, Mahapatra said Dasburma has had financial transactions worth crores through the bank account of one Biswal of Maluda area in Balugan.

“How Biswal is related to Dasburma? Through his bank account, the BJD minister has made huge financial transactions to invest in his mining, granite and real estate businesses. Let the minister reveal the details of the amount he has received from the chit fund companies and invested in his multiple businesses, failing which I will reveal these to the media on April 19,” Mahapatra thundered.

However, Dasburma was not available for comment.

Meanwhile, the BJP today reiterated its demand for the immediate ouster of Dasburma from his post.

Talking to media persons here, State BJP president Basant Panda said the chief minister, who always talks about clean and transparent administration, should take steps immediately and ask Dasburma to quit his post.

“BJP, which has demanded immediate ouster of Dasburma from his post, will intensify its agitation if the chief minister does not take any action against him,” he added.

In his reaction, BJD spokesperson Amar Prasad Satpathy said the political parties are demanding the ouster of Dasburma on the strength of their assessment.

“Since the CBI is probing the incident and there is no final outcome of the investigation, the demand of the Opposition is ‘immature’,” he pointed out.
