Lulu brigade attacks cops with eggs during protest on NH

Puri: In an ugly turn of of events, police and activists of Lulu Sena a brigade of youth who owe allegiance to former firebrand Congress leader Lulu Mohapatra, entered into a tussle during a protest on NH 53 at Samajajpur near Chandanpur here on Wednesday.

A face-off ensued between police and activists of Lulu Sena during a protest being staged by the latter over the death of one of their supporters in a group clash.

The agitators took to the street protesting death of one of their supporters in a group clash that occurred on May 9 during palli Sabha at Kotakana village near Chandanpur, said assistant superintendent of police Jagannath Pradhan.

The man who was injured critically in the clash succumbed to injuries during treatment at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar today, he added.
