Low pressure to trigger more rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Rain or thundershower is likely to occur at most places over coastal Odisha and many places over Interior Odisha under the influence of the low pressure formed over West central and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal and South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh Coast, the Met office said here today.

According to a release issued by the department, the low pressure is now located over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, the release added.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over coastal Odisha while one or two places over interior Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours, the release predicted.

The Met department has advised fishermen to be cautious while venturing into sea.
