Low pressure to trigger heavy rainfall in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre in Bhubaneswar on Thursday predicted heavy rain and thundershower in the next 48 hours under the influence of a low-pressure system developing over the Bay of Bengal.

According to met office, an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over North-West Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic Bengal and Odisha. This is most likely to turn into a low-pressure system, said director of Regional Meteorological Department, Sarat Chandra Sahoo.

According to Sahoo, most parts in Odisha will experience rainfall till October 9 while coastal and interior pockets will witness heavy to very heavy rainfall.
