Locals stage protest in front of Utkal Alumina plant in Odisha

Raygada: Residents of Kashipur in Rayagada district staged a protest over increasing pollution due to emissions from Utkal Alumina Plant.

According to sources, hundreds of protesters today sat in front of the plant demanding relocation of the plant.

According to sources, locals have been demanding relocation since 2012.

We will continue our protests until our demands are not met, informed protestors.

Meanwhile, administrative officials are holding discussions with the protesters, who have alleged that pollutants emanating from the plant are affecting them.

They have alleged that people are falling sick after eating food which contains coal and Bauxite particles.
