Jagatsinghpur: Demanding a super specialty hospital, a 15-member team of 'Jagatsinghpur Vikash Manch' reached Bhubaneswar from Jagatsinghpur today on foot to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

"We started walking on July 5 from Bhatana of Jagatsinghpur and we are on our way to meet CM Naveen Patnaik at his residence. We would urge CM to set up a super specialty hospital in Jagatsinghpur. When 20 super specialty hospitals were opened in the state by the government, Jagatsinghpur was not included in the list," said Biplab Chaudhury, convener of Jagatsinghpur District Vikash Manch.

However, the members who started their journey on July 5 were stopped by the police at Master Canteen square today.

According to sources, the activists were stopped because they didn't have permission to conduct the rally.

"We have been stopped by the police but we will try our best to meet the CM," Chaudhury added.

This march comes in the backdrop of Muktikanta Biswal's 1350-km walk to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the latter's promise to build a super specialty hospital in Rourkela .
