Bhubaneswar: Two youths of Sisupalgarh were detained and thrashed by villagers in Nuagaon on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Thursday before being rescued by local police.

As per sources, some youths of Sisupalgarh had allegedly misbehaved with girl students of Nuagaon few days back. Following this there was a group clash between the two villages.

Last night, five youths of Sisupalgarh entered Nuagaon village in a Scorpio vehicle and tried to attack some villagers. But the youths were overpowered by the villagers.

While two youths were detained by residents of Nuagaon, three of them managed to escape.

The detained youths faced the wrath of locals until police rescued them. The two were also attacked by the villagers while being escorted by police.

"Sisupalgarh youths are attacking our village regularly and are misbehaving with our girls and women. We will take to streets if no action is taken against them," said a local woman.

"It is not the lone case as similar kind of incidents had happened earlier. Therefore, we demand strict action against perpetrators," said a local girl.
