Liquor trader shot dead in Sundargarh

Rourkela: Panic gripped Kapisinga village under Jareikala police limits near Rourkela in Sundargarh district following the murder of a liquor trader, who was shot dead by three unidentified miscreants at the village haat this morning.

Reports said Bhagaban Singh, an agent of a Mahul trader of Bisra area, was selling Mahul liquor at Kapisinga haat when three bike-borne miscreants came and fired at him from a point blank range killing him on the spot. They looted Rs 15,000 cash from him and sped away towards Jharkhand.

The incident took place at about noon.

Following information, police rushed to the spot and have launched a manhunt to nab the assailants. Investigation is on to ascertain the cause of the murder.
