Bhubaneswar: After successful hosting of Asian Athletics Championship in Odisha earlier this month, now all eyes are on the next big event to be hosted here at Kalinga Stadium, the FIH World Hockey League Finals for which the line-up has been finalised.

Host India along with Netherlands, Argentina, England, Germany, Australia and Spain have been selected for the finals scheduled in December later this year.

While India has directly qualified for the ten-day long event, winners of the World Hockey League Semi Finals, Netherland, the first and second runners-up Argentina and England respectively have also qualified for the finals.

Similarly, teams Belgium, Germany, Australia and Spain have secured berth for the finals through the second semi final rounds which concluded recently at Johannesburg.

Composed of four rounds (Round 1, 2, Semi-Finals and Finals) and played over two years, the Hockey World League is one of the biggest hockey championships. Besides the event also serves as a qualifier for the next year’s Hockey World Cup also scheduled in Bhubaneswar.
