Late Cong leader Lulu's family joins BJP

Bhubaneswar: More than a hundred activists of Lulu Sena accompanied by late Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra's daughter Upasana and brother Lalitendu joined BJP today here.

Upasana and Lalitendu joined the saffron party in presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior leaders such as BJP legislature party leader KV Singhdeo and BJP State President Basant Panda at 'Misran Parva' at the Exhibition Ground in Unit-III.

Besides, former youth Congress president Satyajit Patnaik and president of three block congress of Brahmagiri became saffron party members at the function.

Speculations were rife since past few months that the family of Lulu would join the saffron party.

In November last year, Lulu passed away at a private hospital in Gurgaon.

Lulu had formed an outfit Lulu Sena in February 2016 amid talks on intra-party squabbles in Odisha Congress.
