Malkangiri/Koraput: Panic gripped locals after a landmine exploded at Kaliajhola area under Jeypore in Koraput district today. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.

A poster in the name of Sadharan Adivasi Janata has also been recovered from the spot. In the poster, the outfit has warned the Maoists to abstain from carrying violent activities in the area.

In a separate incident, CPI (Maoist) Division of Kalimela has put up posters at two places in Kapatuti ghat in cut-off Chitrakonda area in Malkangiri district today.

The ultras in the poster threatened the kendu leaf traders of the area to pay the pending dues of the pluckers. The red rebels also warned the traders to leave the area or face consequences if they do not pay the kendu leaf pluckers their pending dues at the earliest.

On April 21, the Malkangiri-Koraput Vishakhapatnam Border (MKVB) committee of CPI (Maoist) had also issued death sermons against five villagers through posters in Dandabadi area under Baipariguda police station of Koraput district.
