Lalbag police begin probe into CB official molestation allegations

Cuttack: Investigation into the alleged molestation of a lady official of the state Crime Branch by two government lawyers began here on Friday.

The statement of the CB official was recorded under Section-164 of the CrPC. On the other hand, the High Court Bar Association refuted the allegation saying that the charges are not true. The Association said that the CCTV footage has been examined and there is no such thing in the video footage as per the allegation of the CB official.

Speaking to media persons, Secretary of High Court Bar Association Umesh Chandra Beura said the CB official was not in the correct state of mind and the allegations made by her are totally unsubstantial and fabricated. He further demanded a proper investigation into the incident.

Notably, a case was registered against the two government lawyers at the Lalbag police station on Thursday for allegedly molesting the lady official.

According to reports, the incident apparently occurred inside the lift of Orissa High Court here. She had gone to the High Court on February 7 for some official work and while returning, she was molested in the lift of the court.
