Lady teacher's face blackened for bungling MDM items

Balasore: A lady teacher of Remuna area in the district had a time of embarrassment today as some local guardians beat her up and blackened her face for allegedly bungling the Mid-day meal commodities meant for the students.

The guardians, mostly women, barged into the Krushnachandra UP School at Bagaparia and gheraoed the woman teacher. A verbal dwell was also ensued between the guardians and teacher. Later, the local women thrashed her and blackened her face in public.

“She is running the school in a most monopolistic way. The cooks are not provided with cooking wood and other commodities. While the food is prepared for 10-12 students, she maintained a false record of 70-75 students”, said Gitanjali Das, a guardian.

Police intervened in the matter and discussed with irate women. No complaint has been made in this regard, police said. “The members of school managing committee, local guardians and a teacher were in a verbal dwell. They have told us in writing that the matter has been solved amicably. No complaint has been lodged”, Balasore Sadar police fficial Dayanidhi Das said.
