Bhubaneswar: A cycle rally of Kung Fu nuns titled ‘Live to Love’ reached Bhubaneswar today. The Buddhist nuns, who are commonly known as Kung Fu Nuns, were welcomed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the State Secretariat.

After meeting the nuns, Patnaik said the tour will promote Buddhist tourism.

"I am happy to meet His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa and the Kung Fu Nuns. They will visit all Buddhist sites in our State on cycle to create awareness and promote Buddhist tourism," said the Chief Minister.

"We are working very hard for environmental issue and women empowerment. We are bicycling everywhere to spread awareness," said His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa.

The nuns were also felicitated by Tourism & Culture Department Minister Ashok Chandra Panda.

This is the fifth cycle rally of the Kung Fu nuns following similar expeditions to spread awareness on environmental pollution, human trafficking, women safety and child protection.

Clad in black sweatpants, red jackets and safety helmets, these cyclists started their journey from Kathmandu of Nepal on December 23. They travel 60-70 km per day on bicycles and have covered cities like Gorakhpur, Delhi, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam before reaching Odisha. They are scheduled to visit some more Buddhist sites in the State before ending their tour at Vikramashila in Bihar.
