Koraput Collector makes surprise visit to Bandhugaon, Narayanpatna

Jeypore: In a surprise field visit, Koraput Collector Anupam Shah inspected various welfare activities in different villages of Bandhugaan and Narayanpatna blocks in the district on Thursday.

Accompanied by works department officials, Shah first reached Garidi panchayat and enquired about the status of the under-construction bridge near Dumadangara in the panchayat.

 He held discussion with the local residents who alleged inordinate delay in construction of bridge. The Collector asked the concerned officials to complete the bridge work at the earliest.

Later, he also visited Kumbhariput ghat, one of the most accident-prone places of the district.

"I have asked the executive engineer to complete the bridge construction. Work of the approach road is in progress and it will be completed soon. We are contemplating special road safety measures to minimise mishaps in Kumbhariput ghat," Shah said.
