Konark: After Dhauli, the State Tourism Department will soon start the light and sound show at Konark sun temple to attract more tourists.

The trial of the project which is designed with the joint efforts of ITDC and Odisha Tourism Department was held on Wednesday in presence of Culture minister Ashok Panda, Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty and local MLA here.

light-show-konark-sun-temple konark-light-showThe show has been designed with 3D projection. As many as 250 tourists can enjoy it simultaneously for which eight high definition laser projects have been put up.

The 45-minute show will describe the glory behind the construction of temple, story of Dharmapada and Samba and reason of decay of the shrine. Visitors can hear the sound using wi-fi ear phone in three languages- English, Hindi and Odia. The background voice for the show is given by Kabir Bedi in English, Sekhar Suman in Hindi and Bijay Mohanty in Odia.

"This is the second project after Dhauli. We will initiate measures to set up a similar project at Khandagiri soon," Culture Minister Ashok Panda said.
