Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal president Naveen Patnaik on Saturday suspended Khandapada Block (Nayagarh) chairman Sisir Sahoo and Gaisilat Block (Bargarh) president Manoj Panda from the party, BJD state secretary Ananta Narayn Jena revealed in a press release last evening.

Notably, Vigilance sleuths had arrested Khandapada Panchayat Samiti (PS) chairperson Sisir Kumar Sahu on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The anti-corruption wing of the Odisha Police conducted simultaneous raids at several places, including the house of Sahu, and found properties worth Rs 8.27 crore in his name.

The investigating team had also found three three-storeyed buildings, three luxury vehicles, cash and gold jewellery during the raid.

Besides, the Vigilance also found that Sahu was running a sawmill, a construction company named Subhashree Home Private Limited, timber and marble business illegally.
