Khandapada BDO verbally assaulted over phone

Nayagarh: Allegations of verbal abuse to a bureaucrat came to forefront at Khandapada block in Nayagarh on Sunday with the local Block Development Officer (BDO) accusing an unknown caller of assaulting her over phone.

As per sources, BDO, Sipra Sethi said that some unknown person had been calling abusive words and threatening her by phone. Anxious over the incident, Sethi had lodged a complaint at Khandapada police station and also apprised the District Collector and SP about the matter.

Speaking to media persons, Additional SP Sridhar Pani who is heading the probe into the case said “Based on the complaint from the BDO we lodged an FIR and have started investigation. Yesterday, I had met the BDO and supervised the probe as per instructions from the SP. We hope the culprit would be apprehended in two to three days," he added.
