Bhubaneswar: Days after the controversy arising out of his wife's candidature for samity member, BJD MLA from Kendrapara Kishore Tarai again landed in a fresh trouble over the identity of his father as his affidavits submitted to State Election Commission in different times show multiple names.

The affidavit which was submitted by the ruling party legislator during 2004 Assembly election read Bimbadhar Tarai as his father while in another affidavit produced before the Election Commission during 2014 polls, he has mentioned that Bimal Tarai is his father.

Though the law maker avoided to comment on the issue in front of camera, he said that he has submitted the affidavits according to the voter identity cards.

BJP has targeted the ruling regional party dubbing it as a ‘habitual liar’. "The members of BJD are habituated in telling lie. Will it come out with the truth that who is the father of Kishore Tarai?" BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma said.

However, Congress attacked both BJP and BJP over similar row terming the act as a punishable offence. "Those who are changing facts in their declaration repeatedly should be punished. Smruti Irani has done the similar thing in Centre and now Kishore Tarai has triggered suspicion here over his father's name. So, both BJP and BJD are involved in similar offences," Congress Spokesperson Sarat Rout said.

BJD ignored the matter saying that information mentioned in the affidavits should be probed. "We have no such data. If the matter is based on information, it should be proved," BJD spokesperson Sashi Bhushan Behera said.
