Baliguda: The kiiling of five innocent villagers during an anti-Maoist operation by SOG in Malapanga forest near Kurtamgarh in Kandhamal district is set to gain further traction with a mass protest being organized by tribal and Ddalit organizations from across the state in Baliguda today.

In view of this mass congregation in protest of the killings, security has been beefed up in Baliguda. 4 DSPs, 50 officers and 19 platoons of police force have been deployed to maintain law and order, administration sources said.

The rally will begin from the Baliguda mini stadium at 10 am and march through the town to culminate at the sub collector's office where tribal and dalit leaders will address the gathering.

A memorandum addressed to the President of India and Governor of Odisha will be handed over to the sub collector, Netraman Seth said here yesterday on behalf of the organisers.
